Mary Ann Singersen
Mary Ann lost her father Edward J. Sciaba, Sr. to Lou Gehrig’s Disease in 1998. She began volunteering in the A.L.S community soon after, using her administrative background to raise funds and assist patients with their financial difficulties. She and co-founder Donna Jordan met through their volunteerism and decided to create the kind of organization they wished had been available when their loved ones were battling this disease. Together they formed the A.L.S. Family Charitable Foundation in 2001. Originally from the Boston area, Mary Ann has lived on the Cape for 19 years and enjoys spending time at the beach in the summer and being an active part of the community.

Jamie came across the ALS Family Charitable Foundation while researching ways to get help for the day-to-day needs her sister and brother-in-law faced when his struggle against ALS began. When the opportunity to work with the foundation presented itself, it seemed like it was meant to be.
Jamie is a North Carolina native and graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill. She loves traveling and landscapes of all kinds and likes spending free time reading, in her garden, and on the beaches with her family.
Debbie met our Organization’s co-founders Mary Ann (Sciaba) Singersen and Donna Jordan at a fundraiser after her family member was diagnosed with A.L.S. She then volunteered for the next decade until the position of Patient Service Coordinator was created with her in mind. Debbie’s warm and empathetic personality, her knowledge of Lou Gehrig’s Disease and her background in human services makes her a perfect fit and a vital part of our organization. She feels honored to have our families share their lives with her and has met the most incredible people she has ever known.
